Who are we?

Christopher Austin - President

Christopher Austin is a Marine Corps veteran and the founder of Crew Served, Inc. With over 16 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer, he has helped hundreds of veterans and their families navigate the path to homeownership—especially through VA loans. His passion for service didn’t end with his time in uniform; it simply evolved.

Driven by a desire to give back to the veteran community in a bigger way, Christopher launched Crew Served, Inc. to invest in organizations that serve those who’ve served. From fundraising campaigns to hands-on support, his mission is to make sure no veteran feels forgotten or left behind.

When he’s not working with veteran-focused nonprofits or planning the annual Swings for Service charity golf tournament, you can find him cracking a joke, leading with heart, and reminding everyone that service doesn’t stop—it just changes uniform.

Kaitlyn Englehart - Vice President

Born and raised in New England, Kaitlyn is a proud U.S. Navy veteran dedicated to serving others both in and out of uniform. A 2004 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Kaitlyn began her career as an oceanographer, serving in Japan and in support of special operations units. She later represented the U.S. as a NATO oceanographer based in London, United Kingdom, where she contributed to multinational maritime research and operations.

Her commitment to understanding the natural world led her to earn a master’s degree in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the Naval Postgraduate School. After an accomplished naval career, Kaitlyn transitioned her passion for service and science to the field of healthcare, earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2018. She now practices in outpatient orthopedics, helping patients restore movement and quality of life.

Currently residing in Hawaii with her husband, a fellow Naval officer, and their daughter, Kaitlyn continues to serve her community through her professional work and volunteer efforts. She enjoys traveling with her family, reconnecting with shipmates, playing tennis, and spending time on the water.

Matt O'Connor - Treasurer

Matt O’Connor is a native of Chestertown, Maryland and graduated with honors from the United States Naval Academy in 2004.  Upon graduation and commissioning to Active Duty, Matt reported to flight training in Pensacola, Florida.  He earned his wings in 2007 and spent the remainder of his 11 years of Active Duty qualified in the F/A-18 Super Hornet.

Matt transitioned to the Naval Reserve in 2015 to pursue a career in Manufacturing. Joining a rotational leadership development program with Allegheny Technologies, a $4B aerospace and defense metal manufacturer, Matt has held several roles across all four business units, including leadership roles in Information Technology, Human Resources, Continuous Improvement and Operations. He is currently the plant manager for $700M forging Operation in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Matt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Cornell University.

Matt stays busy supporting the sports careers of three energetic children. When not on the sidelines of a soccer field he enjoys exercising, golf and traveling.

Bradley Thompson - Secretary

Brad Thompson is just a kid from the country, born and raised in southeast Kansas where he worked the family farm raising cattle, horses, and pigs. He is currently employed as a pilot for United Airlines and lives in the Kansas City metro area with his wife, Kelly, and three children. His passion for serving veterans blossomed during his nearly 25 year career as an F/A-18 pilot and officer in the U.S. Navy, but has far deeper personal roots because of the honorable military service of his father and many other family members.

After he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in English, Brad began flight training and served in numerous fighter squadrons, including four Western Pacific deployments and an Arabian Gulf deployment in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, during which he flew twenty-three combat missions. He continued academic pursuits by graduating With Distinction from the U.S. Naval War College with a Master of Arts degree in Defense and Strategic Studies, and served in a non-flying role in support of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Pentagon.

His military career culminated in his selection to command a squadron, and he served as the Commanding Officer of Training Squadron SEVEN, leading a large cadre of instructors from the Navy, Marine Corps, and foreign nations as they trained the next generation of Naval Aviators. He is honored to continue serving those who made the choice to sacrifice for our great nation.
